24 February 2010 – Dinner at Riva Cucina again!

Another great dinner at Riva 🙂  M&N are in the Bay area for a year, and came up from the peninsula to go to Riva for their no-corkage Wednesday.  We had a little bit of a lot of things, of which I have few pictures. I especially liked the artichoke soup. My dinner was Ravioli di Castagne, “Chestnut and mascarpone filled ravioli with butter, thyme and cream, Parmagiano.” It was terrific!

D had Panzerotti ai Porcini, “Porcini and ricotta filled ravioli sauteed with brown butter, sage, and Parmagiano.” That was my second favorite. R (we brought him) had Spalla al Forno, “Slowly braised pork shoulder with soffrito, pancetta, butter, sage and white wine, mashed potatoes.” N had Pappardelle all’agnello, “Garbanzo bean pasta sauteed with lamb, herbs and garlic ragu, radicchio, red wine, Parmagiano”, and M had Rositto al Pesce, “Arborio rice, prawns, squid, baby octopus, manila clams, red onion, white wine, marinara.”

N&M brought two wines from Kermit Lynch, pictured below.  Both were very good, not surprisingly.
