22 March 2010 – Dinner in the dark at Mom’s

Visiting my Mom, a more traditional cook. Good food, but tonight, waaaaaayyyyy low light. I did not manage to get a shot off before the lights went down, so this is as good a job as I can do in a short time with the photo.

Dinner was Country Captain chicken, basically chicken in a tomato sauce, which is served over rice (surely Uncle Ben’s). It’s a nice dish. We also had green beans (way too cooked) with almonds, and a nice fresh salad with cucumbers, tomatoes, and peanuts in it (Mom’s standard). The roll is a Pillsbury thing that is reasonably tasty, but not good enough to be worth the calories and fat, I’m afraid.

The house wine is Corbett Canyon Chardonnay, though we’ve also had their Sauvignon Blanc this week (I’m writing this on the 26th).
