29 March 2010 – Airplane food

Catchup – written 10 April:

I really missed the boat on this one – the opportunity to include a photo of an airline tray table and airplane food! I forgot to take the picture, in this unusual situation. I have a second chance on the exact same flight two days from now.

Here is United Airlines’ description of my meal:

THAI CHICKEN WRAP $9
Grilled chicken breast, romaine lettuce, julienned carrots, red and yellow bell pepper strips and Thai aioli sauce wrapped in a tortilla, accompanied by Kettle Classics potato chips.

It was quite good – fresh – no soggy bits. There was a mango aioli in a squeeze packet, which was difficult to manage without getting sticky fingers, but much better than having it pre-applied so it would soak into the wrap. Well worth at least half the $9 I paid for it. Wine, too, perfectly drinkable, and worth about 1/2 the price.
