19 May 2010 – Dinner at Osteria del Forno in San Francisco

We had planned a belated birthday dinner for D here at Osteria. Tried last night, but it is closed Tuesdays (which of course meant we got to discover La Ciccia – all to the good).  I had the pasta special at Osteria – gnocci in a gorgonzola sauce. It was very good. We also had several appetizers, including the special artichoke soup, R’s favorite bresaola with black mushroomy things, and D’s favorite insalata with tuna.

The big hit for me (though the food was good, as always) was the wine, which was really, REALLY excellent:
