27 May 2010 – P’s Lasagne

(Written the 13th)

Well, I forgot to photograph my place setting, but this is the consolation prize. I made this lasagne based on a recipe from a former BF’s friend P. The recipe card was probably written in 1966.

The “one pound can tomatoes” is probably wrong – should have used a 28 oz can instead of 14.5, but that got taken care of in the third iteration of this meal. The recipe calls for quite a number of herbs, of which the small amount of tarragon was the most striking. A dozen or so noodles, hamburger sauce, ricotta (alt: cottage cheese), and mozzarella make up the dish.

I think this was the night I sauteed up some FRESH (think of it!) zucchini for Mom, B, and me. Just used plain oil (no olive in sight) and peppered it. It was good. {No, actually that was later. No idea what frozen veggie we had with this the first time – or actually I have a guess – possibly green beans with toasted almonds?} I had the other pinot I had bought for beefy meals, and it was also good.
