30 May 2010 – Leftover pot roast and gravy; mashed potatoes, cooked carrots

I requested that we have mashed potatoes to go with the leftover pot roast, and they were just the thing.

Mom makes really good cooked carrots. I know she ends up cooking them in butter (or “oleo”) but not sure what else she does. I will have to find out. I just have had the rest of the HobNob pinot with this – or I hope I did 🙂 Note that tomatoes are making an appearance – Mom peels tomatoes (amazing!) and instead of having them in her usual salad (given the cole slaw), we are just having them as themselves, which works ok. Not great tomatoes, yet, but not tasteless, either.
