20 June 2010 – Pasta with homemade sausage, pea pods, and red peppers

This is an old favorite from California Fresh, that I have not made for years.

A tomato sauce is made with canned tomatoes, garlic, oregano and parsley, and to this is added sausage that has been boiled whole, then sliced and sauteed to brown it. In the end, thin-sliced red pepper and zucchini are sauteed briefly with oil and garlic and added into the sauce, and fresh basil is added at into the mix. It is quite tasty!

We had a wine that M&N brought during the weekend, and we really enjoyed it.
