D planned this one knowing that it was going to be another seriously hot day (over 90). It was just about a perfect balance of flavors!
He bought what he reports as “63 cents worth of fish” at the Bowl on his way home – Grenadier, I think he said – the cheapest kind they had. He asked for the largest piece, but didn’t realize how small it was. Could have used more, he thinks, but I didn’t feel we missed anything. He used a salsa that he made for lunch yesterday with fresh tomatoes, tomatillos, and a pepper from our friend J that was seriously hot. He also bought a can of black beans at the Bowl when he bought the fish, and used some, but not all, of it. He cooked the fish with all these ingredients, and the total result was incredibly delicious! Here’s a closeup 🙂
One of the points of this was that it would go with a cold white wine 🙂
This was “Entre-deux-mers”, a sauvignon/semillon IIRC. We’re in the sunroom again with open windows. Two neighbors drove by during dinner and waved – one in his car, and one on her nifty trike.
