Rosetta Costantino had a party for her students, to celebrate the release of her beautiful new cookbook, My Calabria. As usual for interestingly different dinners, I forgot to photograph it; however, I remembered a bit later after I took seconds of the delicious tomato salad.
Also, we especially liked the melanzane (eggplant) fritters, and the green tomato pickle(?) on a round of baguette.
We also enjoyed these well-cooked peppers:
We took with us a bottle of one of our more upscale “house wines”, a 2007 Cantina Zaccagnini Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. Some table mates generously donated an unfinished bottle of 2007 Clos du Bois cabernet, and I had some of this, which was also excellent.
Did we have dessert?? Oh yeah! Nice fruit salad, with mint (you can see it in the top photo). It was an excellent finish.
