23 November 2010 – Boudin blanc; potatoes with kale

D made this thinking that the leftover Berkeley Bowl Syrah would go well with it. He was right!

The Boudin blanc is by Christopher Lee. We bought a package at the Kermit Lynch party for the release of the Beaujolais nouveau on Saturday; Mr. Lee and his team were cooking, and also had three-packs of the sausage for sale for the not inconsiderable price of $15. D cooked up one sausage for the two of us, which was plenty (at the lunch, it was one per person!). He boiled Yukon gold potatoes and kale leaves, and then sauteed them together in oil a bit. He also put a bit of Berkeley Bowl mustard on the side, which went really well with the sausage.

The wines were the last 1/3 bottle each of the newly released Berkeley Bowl Syrah and Pinot Noir, which are very good wines, and only $10 each.
