Rice with chicken, black beans, and peppers; spinach – 11 April 2012

D had dinner almost done by the time I got home at quarter to eight. It smelled good 🙂

He cooked basmati rice, and added canned black beans, some more of the roast chicken, and slices of piquillo peppers from a jar I bought for a dinner some time ago. It was good, but I definitely noticed the canned-peppers taste – like chicken a la king I used to have at my friend Candy’s house in elementary school. D also cooked some spinach in a tiny bit of water and served it with some butter, which was delicious.

D also made a new loaf of no-knead bread today. Excellent! It had 1/6 “white whole wheat” flour, and some Grape Nuts fines.

We had some of our stash of Volteo Tempranillo from Grocery Outlet ($5) and really enjoyed it.
