Herb omelette and toast after the neighborhood meeting – 23 April 2012

We got home about 8:30 after the neighborhood meeting (which I led) and D said he had no ideas for dinner. I said “omelette!”

He had been talking about an omlette b/c we had extra tarragon and chives from last night’s dinner, and also some chervil happily growing up in the back yard. Before the meeting, he had gotten out a small bit of very aged brie, some good Beemster cheese, some bread, and some kalamata olives, so we were not exactly foodless. I made toast in the toaster oven with the no-knead bread he made a few days ago, while he put together an omelette with three eggs, some half and half from the neighborhood executive committee meeting last Sunday, and tarragon, chives, and parsley. He also cut up a Bosc pear that turned out to be really good, and a great match with the wine.

 

D opened a bottle of Jaffelin Pouilly-Fuisse from Grocery Outlet, and it was a good bottle, and excellent for the dinner, as well as the pear dessert 🙂 Sorry about the bent picture… too close up!
