I arrived home from my trip not feeling very well, and so I asked for just a tiny serving of dinner.
It was a nice pasta, with a tomato sauce D had made using tomatoes from a discount bag that Berkeley Bowl sometimes will offer for 99 cents. For the first night, he usually makes it simple, with onions and garlic and some herbs – then he adds new ingredients for other meals.
We had a new Aglianico del Vulture from North Berkeley Wines’ recent mega sale. It wanted more breathing than we had time to give it once we discovered that, but obviously has promise. And we have another bottle. It think it really wants to be served with beef.
