Nicoise with black-eyed peas – 30 August 2013

D got some fresh black-eyed peas at the Bowl – pretty variety in their husks – and also had two hard boiled eggs in the fridge, leftover bits of Nicoise dressing, a few haricots, and random other things that suggested a Nicoise to him – especially after he had time to shell only a small handful of black-eyed peas at lunchtime!

main130829Let’s see… salad turnips and radishes, more Costco canned tuna (Tonno), tomatoes from Dirty Girl Produce at the farmers’ market, marble potatoes from the Bowl, a filleted and rinsed salt-cured anchovy, and a few strips of basil leaves. Great dinner!

130829-black-eyedpeasinshellswine130829D bought an Acme Rustic Sweet Baguette today, and there was plenty left over from lunch, which we had some of for dinner. Delicious bread!

D brought up a bottle of Toscana Rosso (2010) from Camminetto, which R got us at Grocery Outlet for $4. It’s a tasty wine, so we will probably get more if it’s still there.
