Soup with turkey, potatoes, and snap peas; tomatoes; Welsh cheddar – 3 December 2013

D used up two peanut butter jars of turkey stock on a very nice soup.

main131203He sauteed onions and garlic, added the stock and chunked potatoes, and leftover turkey. He boiled for 15 minutes, then added sugar snap peas, which P had cleaned up, and cooked the soup another 5 minutes. We added some salt at the table, and also sour cream. It was delicious!

bread131203He also cut up most of the last Dirty Girl Produce dry-farmed early girl tomatoes, and put out four chunks of Welsh cheddar. He also bought an Acme Italian Batard today, and we had a bunch of that.

D brought up a wine he got at Costco sometime back, a Cotes du Rousillon Villages calles “Les Vignes de Bila-Haut” by Michel Chapoutier (2011). R&D liked it a lot. I thought it was fine but not one I was excited about.
