Spaghetti with tomato sauce with mushrooms – 12 July 2014

main140712setting140712D continues to cook, being either less sick or braver than I. He used up most of the remainder of last night’s tomato sauce, but started by adding sliced and sauteed mushrooms – just plain ones – to the sauce. Served this over spaghetti.



wine140712We had most of the rest of the Acme Italian loaf, and half a bottle (between us) of Chateau Liversan 2010 Haut Medoc. Good dinner.



We received a lovely gift of Harry & David cheese and cherries from our houseguests yesterday afternoon, and ate or gave to R most of the cherries. We had the last of the cherries and the first of the brie for lunch. We thought the cheese was good but not spectacular, but later (I’m filling this in on the 20th) I thought that the center of the brie was excellent, and just didn’t love the rind.
