Spaghetti with Ragu and hamburger; lettuce and “baby” carrots – 22 December 2014

main141222Got to Mom’s in time for dinner, after getting up at 3am on the west coast, two flights on different planes, a bus and subway ride, and then being kindly picked up by Brother at the Metro station. Mom cooked up some spaghetti, and warmed Ragu with a little bit of hamburger in it. She serves this in two big serving bowls, one for spaghetti and the other for the sauce, and we each take what we want of it. She also put out cut iceberg lettuce and those carrots that are supposed to be “baby” but are really big carrots, lathed to be little. We put Lite Thousand Island dressing on them. Mom’s favorite wine is Corbett Canyon’s Chardonnay, which conveniently comes in a box. Rather than get out a red, I just joined in with that one, but it doesn’t go at all with spaghetti.
