Spaghetti with mushrooms, pine nuts, parsley, and pecorino; salad with tomatoes – 1 December 2015 (ack!)

main151201setting151201I’ve written about this meal a lot – D’s invention, sort of his signature dish: mushrooms and pine nuts cooked in olive oil, parsley added here, and also fresh at the end; toss with spaghetti, top with pecorino Romano shaved with a potato peeler. Great food. D also made a very nice little salad, using some delicate lettuce and a tomato that he got from Tomatero farm at the Grand Lake market on the 29th.

wine151201He especially liked the celery in it, but I actually didn’t notice celery. It was good, in any case.

Also had a bottle of the Villa Travignori 2011 Chianti Rufina that I bought at Grocery Outlet – 2 cases (after tasting, of course) – awhile ago for some absurdly low price – $5 or $6 max. It’s really an enjoyable wine – not just “good for the price,” but Good.
