Mom’s friend H came over to give B and me a nice little chicken pot pie – two, actually, but we had had a big, late lunch (or second lunch in my case) of somosas and [other things… not sure what they’re called] at the Holi celebration and so we just split one of the pies for dinner. I preheated the oven to 350 and heated the pie 30 minutes, sitting atop a small baking pan in case of drips (none, in fact) and adding the corn bread for the last few minutes. It was a tasty pie and the crust was flaky and nice. I think it was from somethng like Boston Market, not home-baked, but very good quality, especially for mass-produced food. We enjoyed it.
At the county wine store yesterday we found 1.5 liter bottles of brother B’s favorite white wine, Chateau Ste. Michelle Chardonnay, for $15.99. We bought two, and opened one for dinner tonight. Nice wine 🙂
